Met' ma Nara

An elven sword, made almost 500 years ago, crafted of blue steel. The blade is a kris shape (wavy bladed), etched with the images of fish and waves. The weapon's name is also carved into the blade. The crosspiece is also blue steel and is made into the shape of two dolphins arched away from the grip. The grip is carved from a piece of whale bone with wave patterns scored into it. The pommel is shaped like an oyster shell and is made of a light blue coral.

The shortsword was forged by a high elven sorceror for his daughter, a half-high/half-sea elf. She carried it with her for many years, both above and below the seas. It has not been seen since she was ambushed by a band of sahuagin 200 years ago and barely escaped with her life. She died 10 years ago, having still not recovered her blade.

Met' ma Nara is a shortsword +1, bane of sahuagin, gaining +2 to its enchancement bonus and inflicting an extra 2d6 points of damage against such foes. It allows its owner to breathe both water and air equally well, and it confers freedom of movement when wielded under water.
