When this spell is cast, a thick strand of flexible magical spider web instantly extends from the focus to any point within range, where it adheres. To hit a specific point (such as an item or creature), the caster must make a ranged touch attack.

If the dragline web strikes a creature or object, the caster can cause the web to retract, drawing the adhered target toward him at up to 20 feet per round. The dragline can pull up to twice the caster's weight. If the target fights the pulling, the target and caster make opposed Strength checks, with the caster gaining a +1 bonus per 2 caster levels. The target is not considered helpless.

If the dragline web adheres to a target that is more than twice as heavy as the caster (or is well anchored), the web draws the caster toward the target at up to 20 feet per round as it retracts.

Once it has adhered to a target, the caster can also cause the web to extend in length to up to twice the original range.

The web vanishes when the spell duration ends or when it is dismissed. Dismissing this spell is a free action.

If the target's spell resistance is not overcome by the caster, the web does not adhere and it vanishes.
