This spell imbues an unborn or unhatched creature with mystical protection in order to assure a healthy birth.

The caster must touch either the creature's mother or its egg during the entire hour it takes to cast this spell. Once the spell is complete, the unborn or unhatched creature is gifted with divine protection, which lasts until one day after the creature is born or hatched, or until dispelled by a caster of at least twice the level of the cleric that cast this spell. Until the spell ends, the young creature mystically (and instantly) regenerates any damage that may occur and is completely immune to any diseases or poisons that might affect it.

In addition to protecting the offspring, the magic of this spell provides limited benefit to the mother while the offspring is inside her. Until the offspring is born or the egg is laid, she gains a +3 bonus to any Fortitude saves where the outcome of a failed save could harm the child.

If the offspring is within an egg, the egg's shell gains a hardness of 15 while the unhatched creature is inside. This hardness does not affect the creature's ability to break free of the shell.

During the first day of the creature's life outside the womb or egg, the infant's eyes glow with very faint golden light.
