This spell can only be cast on a willing, living target. The target suffers 1 point of damage per caster level (maximum of 15 hit points, and the amount cannot reduce the target to less than 1 hit point), which cannot be healed until after this spell ends. While the spell takes effect, a blood red weapon extends from the target's hand (it forms either a sharp blade or a blunt rod, the choice of which falls to the target). This nearly weightless weapon, which the target can wield as if he is proficient, inflicts 1 point of slashing or bludgeoning damage per hit point lost on each successful hit (this weapon has a critical threat range of 20/x2). Strength bonuses apply to damage from this weapon.
The target of this spell can not be disarmed of this weapon. If it is sundered or destroyed (it has a hardness of 10 and 10 hit points), it reforms itself 1 round later. It can be subjected to spells which affect non-magical weapons.
When this spell ends, the weapon is reabsorbed and the target regains the hit points lost when the spell was cast.
