Locations of Interest: The Gold Nugget Inn & Tavern (in Grulette)
The Gold Nugget is perhaps the largest single building in the small town of Grulette. The once abandoned inn has been restored to service and expanded in the last year as the mines to the north have reopened. It is owned by a band of adventurers and run by Samuel, a simple man who's only, yet incredible, talents revolve around running an inn. The Gold Nugget is the only inn anywhere around the area of Grulette. As the village has grown into a small town, the residents have actively discouraged any other inns from being set up (in gratitude to the adventurers who saved the town from a dangerous monster). It caters to local residents, miners, traveling merchants, and anyone else traveling through the small town. The first things many visitors to the inn notice when they enter the common room are mounted to the wall behind the bar: a dire flail, an orc double axe, and an incredibly massive greatsword. These trophies were captured by the adventurers that own the inn. The ceiling is 8 feet high except in the middle of the room where it is open to the rafters supporting the roof. Railings on the second floor give a veiw to the common room below. The common room is almost always busy, as it has become the main place for socializing in the area. Rates for the night vary considerably. The largest rooms on the second floor can go for up to 20 gp per person per night (on the busiest nights), while the cheapest spaces are the large room over the stable (8 sp per person per night) and the sturdy tents behind the inn (2 sp per person per night). One drink and one meal are included in the price. ![]()
