The Amethyst Dragon's Review:
Gladiator
Rating: 9/10
I went to see this film on the big screen, which was a great decision. Russell Crowe does a spectacular job as Maximus, a Roman general who is hated by the new emporer.
This flick takes place around 800 A.D. in different parts of Europe (Germania and Rome). The scenery, acting, costumes, weapons, and choreography are extraordinary. The battles are bloody, but not as gruesome as the ones in Braveheart. The story iteself is a great tale...a man goes from general to slave to gladiator to hero.
This is a wonderful movie, and I recommend it to almost anyone. It may be a little too violent for small children, so leave them at home when going to see it.
