Welcome to the World of Aenea. This site contains information and resources needed by those playing (or interested in playing) on the World of Aenea server.
Aenea is an online world developed originally for a pen and paper Dungeons & Dragons game. The world has a flavor of its own, and a bit of time exploring will reveal that to players. After more than a year of work in the design and crafting, went online in June 2006 for the general public to explore and adventure in.
The World of Aenea is constantly being added to. As time passes, new areas, new monsters, new treasures, and new quests are being added.
Just a few features to look forward to as you explore:
- Award winning colorized class, feat, and spell icons, an original idea developed for this world
- a text-based Variable Chat system for gaining information, toggling options, speaking languages, initiating extra emotes, and more.
- underwater areas with blue-skinned scrags (waterbreathing trolls) and the risk of drowning
- horses of different sorts for riding
- a custom designed portal system for rapid travel across the continent (using the Vault's Lord Nikon's stargate models)
- teleportation spells: teleport, transference, word of recall, summon ally, and teleportation barrier
- deity-specific granted spells and powers for clerics to replace the generic domains
- dfferent favors granted by the deities to their followers, such as healing, summoned aid, or even killing of enemies
- many D&D style items, such as the flaming longsword +1 that you have to activate to get the fire (no more burned clothing from sheathing a weapon) and the hat of disguise which let's you look like other creatures
- several additional skills that characters can automatically gain ranks in, such as Swim and Knowledge (arcana)
- 94 new spells such as water breathing (makes it possible to avoid drowning), sphere of denial (knocks creatures over), and tenser's floating disc (for carrying treasure out of dungeons)
- ...and much more

January 30, 2010:
- New aeneahak_updates.hak file available for download. This one has a few new placeable models, plus a bunch other model work (which will become visible in-game soon).

- Aenea's ISP changed the direct-connect IP on us. The new one is 70.190.83.96:5121.

January 23, 2010:
- New aeneahak_updates.hak file and aenea.tlk file available for download from the Vault or via WorldGate.
- Server updating from CEP 2.2 to CEP 2.3. Make sure you have the newer version.
- After a reset Saturday, the server will no longer use the CCP hak file.
- Throwing daggers will soon start to show up in-game.

January 11, 2010:
- New VC command is fully functional. pc tool portrait xxxxxx can be used to instant change your character portrait while in-game. To easily see what is available, you can check out the little guide I put together, found under "Portraits" on the Rules & Info page.

- MannyJabrielle has kindly put together an override package of CEP robes that work with the alternative combat animation styles used in Aenea. If you want to use it, check the downloads page, and remember to tell him "thanks" when you see him in-game.

- Aenean custom content wins NWN Vault Hall of Fame awards #12 and #13, this time for the 1.69 Icons: Colorized and 1,220,376 New Wands.
- New aeneahak_updates.hak file and aenea.tlk file available for download. Get these if you want to try out the new Dragonsoul prestige class.

- New hak files available to add lots of things:
- - Living Sky project:
- - - sun will rise and set, changing position each game hour
- - - moons will rise and set, changing position each game hour
- - - moons will change phase, depending on in-game date
- - - rain will bring with it heavy cloud cover
- - - new daytime, dawn, dusk, and night skyboxes
- - - random lightning during rainstorms
- - New dragon models (made by Hardpoints)
- - New container inventory images (for all your pack-rat needs)
- - Updated monster models: trolls, undead (thanks to Project Q)
- - - New cinder troll and scrag appearances as well
- - New spell: mount (needs a little adjustment in the aenea.tlk file, available this weekend)
- Updates now available by full download and by use of WorldGate software (for incremental downloads)
