Throughout the year, we will be learning about the history of earlier civilizations, from the earliest hunters and gatherers up through the Middle Ages and Renaissance. Reading, activities, and events will help students gain an understanding of these ancient times and how human history influences the modern world.

Currently:
We are now studying several early cultures outside of Europe: Aztec, Native American, Early Japanese, and Islamic cultures.

Older Notes:
Chapter 5: Ancient China
Chapter 8: Ancient Greece
Chapter 9: Ancient Romans
Chapter 10/15: Middle Ages & Renaissance

Didn't see the notes for the last test here? I did not post them. It turns out that having the notes here on the site was mentioned by several students as a reason not to pay attention and take notes in class, since they could "just get the notes from the website."

Coming Up:

Tuesday, May 20, 2008 CE - Other Early Cultures Test Egyptian Masks:
The students spent a few days working on Egyptian masks. Their faces were cast in plaster strips, attached to a headdress, and painted gold. The students finished by painting on the facial features and decorations. Want to see a couple of pictures of how things went? Click on the thumbnails below:
