Character Death & Retirement

There comes a time in many characters' lives that there is an end to adventuring. Sometimes this comes about due to death, other times because a character simply retires.

Character Death

Should a Player Character be killed during an adventure and not brought back to life through magic or other means, that Player must make up a new and different character (different race and class than the deceased character), which will be brought into the game as quickly as possible.

The new character will start out at the same level as the old character at his/her time of death.

The DM will determine the amount and type of money or equipment the new character starts with, and will help the player introduce the new character to the rest of the party.

Character Retirement

Some characters, instead of ending their adventures by dying, choose instead to retire to live out their years away from the dangers and excitement of adventuring.

A character that retires is removed from the party, taking his or her wealth, items, followers, and anything else. Nothing is passed on to other party members or left behind for the new character that replaces the retiring one.

Like replacing a deceased character, the new character will be a different race and class than the retiring one, with no relation to the previous character. The DM and player will work together to bring the new character into the game.
