Items and Objects: Weapons Weapons are, of course, an important part of Dungeons & Dragons. In Aenea, there have been some changes to several weapons. Reforged: Every default weapon model in the game has been replaced by brand new models created for the players of Aenea. Called Project Reforged, this year and half long project removed the old blocky weapons, replacing them with more realistic and better textured versions. More weapon model appearances have also been added the game. Quarterstaff: The humble quarterstaff has been altered in Aenea. Instead of a simple large weapon that inflicts 1d6 damage, it has been changed into a double weapon, granting an extra attack each round, though with penalties to the attack roll. This was done to bring the quarterstaff more in line with how it's traditionally been used. To make the staff still useful for everyone, equipping the staff automatically grants the wielder the Two-Weapon Fighting feat (via a temporary property on the staff). CEP Weapon Types: A few examples of CEP weapons are found in Aenea. These have not been Reforged, nor are they commonly found. Several of these weapons types do have feats that apply to them, but it is through old feats applying to the new item types, rather than all new feats. Falchion: All of the standard greatsword weapon feats apply to the maul: Weapon Focus (greatsword), Weapon Specialization (greatsword), Improved Critical (greatsword), Epic Weapon Focus (greatsword), Epic Weapon Specialization (greatsword), and Weapon of Choice (greatsword). Mace, Heavy: All of the standard mace weapon feats apply to the heavy mace. Maul: All of the standard warhammer weapon feats apply to the maul. Pick, Heavy: All of the standard warhammer weapon feats apply to the heavy pick. Pick, Light: All of the standard warhammer weapon feats apply to the light pick. Scimitar, Double: All of the standard two-bladed sword weapon feats apply to the double scimitar. Cestus: The cestus is an Aenean weapon type. Weapon Finesse applies to the cestus, as do the standard "unarmed strike" weapon feats: Weapon Focus (unarmed strike), Weapon Specialization (unarmed strike), Improved Critical (unarmed strike), Epic Weapon Focus (unarmed strike), and Epic Weapon Specialization (unarmed strike). |
