Fae are clever, capable, and resourceful survivors, yet find great enjoyment in the simple pleasures of life. They are curious, and show a daring that many larger people can't match. While they enjoy their meals to the fullest, they tend to stay very active and rarely put on extra weight. They prefer practical clothing, and would rather wear a comfortable shirt than jewelry. Fae stand about 3 feet tall, and commonly live to see 150.
Fae are very comfortable with members of other races, and will usually settle within or just outside the villages and cities they like. Larger cities might have fae communities contained within their walls, while smaller villages may have a fae village just outside. Fae settlements tend to work as communes, with all the members working together to accomplish necessary work so that everyone gets a chance to relax together to enjoy good meals and entertainment. They are fond of singing and dancing, and will sometimes travel to other areas to learn new songs or moves.
When dealing with other societies, fae usually find it easy to blend in. Their small stature leads others to not see them as a thread, and their easygoing attitudes make it much more likely that others will accept a fae into their social lives.
Fae (formerly called halflings) in Aenea are distant descendants of faeries and other fey creatures. They do not respond when called "hin" (this is not the Forgotten Realms). They usually refer to other races as humans, elves, "tall folk", or whatever seems more appropriate.
